Out of this world

A few bits of unused stash and backgrounds came together to make this card. I was prompted by the challenge at Daring Card Makers for "Out of this World".

I had used the caught in crystal method to make some backgrounds ages ago and this one seemed to be to look aquatic. The frame is from Clarity - I have loads of ideas for it - this is hopefully one of many. I stamped it and then ran it through a wood effect embossing folder. Then I applied some TH vintage photo ink.
I used the stamps that came free with Creative Stamping from Sheena Douglas. Coloured with spectrum noir sparkle pens.

I just love this sentiment! Finishing touch some sequins.

Summertime at Ooh la la creations challenge blog

Our new challenge theme at Ooh la la has been chosen by Jennifer and it's SUMMERTIME. Seems like our weather in the UK is too - at the moment!

For my DT card I used Shawn Jenkins collection and the images called "summer fun".

The image is so lifelike that it is difficult to tell what I added and what is on the image lol! I added the ball, sunglasses and drink from dies by TL which were in the advent calendar last Christmas. The paper is one of the weave images in this set.

I do hope you can join us at the Challenge - you don't have to use CD roms or an OLL image to enter - just follow the theme and have fun.

I'm also entering this into the CD Sunday challenge as it fits the theme so perfectly.

mid month reminder for Anything goes at Penny Black & More

Here to give you a little reminder of our Anything Goes challenge at Penny Black & More at the moment. The theme is anything goes, but we still need to see stamping as the focal point of your work please.

Before I go through how I made my DT card a reminder about the prizes this month:-

We have a different prize this month the choice of Penny Black stamps or a Tattered lace baby blue die cutting machine. Normally we put all the entries into the draw but this month we are going to ask you to let us know which prize you prefer, this is because the Penny Black stamps are all wood mounted and we know that presents storage problems for some people. So we are asking all entrants this month to leave us a comment to tell us if they prefer the stamps or the die cutting machine...........we will only enter the people who have commented into the draw as we would not want to send these lovely stamps to someone who would not use them.

For my DT card I used PB 40-501 on the lake and PB2695J Dance sing love. I stamped the main image with the Misti several times using different coloured inks and then washed over with aquatints. I then embossed the sentiment over the top. I created a backing paper by using vellum dipped into aquatints from my glass mat and swirled around. I then added part of a Memory box tree die cut from CE shimmer cardstock. Finally I drew three little flying birds to balance the design.

Less is More - week 333 Personalise it

I just got the new artliner brushes from Crafters Companion and the alphabet and sentiment stamps. Now I don't do instructions! So this is my first attempt everything straight out of the box - I'm blogging it even though it looks a mess as it will hopefully encourage me to keep going with them and not let them just go in the drawer!

I made a background using Cosmic Shimmer Chalk colour clouds and then used Lisa Horton flower stamps to randomly stamp before spraying with water and sponging off. The I used the sentiment stamp and then the letter stamps before going over with artliner brush and white ink.

As this weeks challenge on Less is More is "personalise it" I'm going to enter it into the challenge there.

Bloom where you're planted for Creative Expressions

Today I am excited to be back sharing with you a card/gift card that I made for Creative Expressions as part of their Design Team.

I used Lisa Horton for CE stamp sets Best Bud and Dotty about You. I took CS Chalk Cloud blending ink and dabbed it onto some Coconut white foundation card then stamped a couple of the flower, cut out and added diamond frost. I then did the same for the centre flower but also added to the tips the crystal hexagonal jewels and to the tiny flower centres. I then used some green colour cloud to make the leaves in the same way.

I took my base card and scored twice to form a spine - as this is what is inside the card.....

I needed the depth to be able to create the pocket to hold the seeds.

I stamped centrally the "bloom where you are planted" sentiment on the outside of the card. Then I cut two squares slightly larger and cut a circle out of one in the middle and the other at the top. Stamping randomly the using the leaves stamp onto both pieces with colour cloud.

For the front of the card I used some foam tape to mount the circle over the sentiment. Then I added the flowers and leaves. For the inside I put the foam along three sides to form a pocket. Finally I added another flower and leaves to the seed packet.

Shabby chic @ CD Sunday challenge

Working with my new teamies on the Swedish House Crafts DT has rubbed off on me! I would never have created a card like this before seeing all their gorgeous work - it is no where near the standard of those ladies, but I am trying!

I used a PTI paper for the base and the next printed paper is from the Shabby chic section of the free cd rom with Crafters Companion magazine. I used a TH distress tool for the edges and inked with CE chalk cloud. I then stamped a Penny Black sentiment onto a circle and used the chalk colour cloud again around the edges and on the doily.

I had this beautiful bunch of flowers as part of a kit - they came like this, so I simply added some ribbon. In the same kit where the border and corner shapes which I again used chalk colour cloud on. I think the Chalk colour clouds really lend themselves to this shabby chic look.
The dies are from TL and thanks to CD Sunday for the flower one which I just won the other week.

Finishing touches are some buttons and some tiny CE hexagon glitter jewels which catch the light and even show up in my photo.

I'm entering this card into the current CD Sunday challenge for Shabby chic.

Favourite stamp @ Stamping Sensations challenge

I think it's a bit unfair of Stamping Sensations to ask you to use your favourite stamp for their challenge- I mean who has just one!

So I settled on a poppy and this Ken Oliver one which I then used four times. I created a background with aquatints stamped four times then cut out with a TL pierced die. I then coloured each image slightly differently and added a sentiment from a MFT stamp set. I mounted it all onto a piece of black card cut with a larger pierced square die.

Two or more dies at Allsorts challenge

I thought I would have a go at trying to do a bit of an arty card. I started with a Chloe sunflower stamp on two aquatint backgrounds which I then cut to make a frame and then to arrange over the card. I used TL pearl square for the base die and a Sheena die for the clock cut from burnished gold card. The "time"  stamp is also from Sheena Douglass.

I'm not sure what to make with what I ended up with! But I am going to enter it into the Allsorts challenge for two or more dies. I've also found the Craft Stamper blog challenge is anything goes - so I'm entering there too.
